Hello my lovelies, I am back with another blog hand-typed and hand-coded by yours truly. This is the first time I am creating a page without external assistance, a point in which I take minimal pride, because this is not a medium I am particularly passionate about. That is to say I love the idea and act of self-publishing online, but I am by no means big into html coding at the moment. That is subject to change of course, as I pick up hobbies as needed, the passion developes along the way. I waws not passionate about traditional art but needed a way to express myself creatively, so I got into collage. Now, I want to add motion and sound to my collages, so I am getting more into editing and videography. That is to say its a means to an end of expression, not a skill I desire to master. Jack of all trades master of none is much better than the master of one. ;p
I believe I referenced it in a prior blog, but I am now the proud owner of not one but two Canon ES190 camcorders. The first I bought from a thrift shop for $15, which despite my best efforts would not accept tape. The second I sourced second hand online for $75. So now I have one functional one and one back up. It's been really whipping it out while out and about to capture a bit of my day. She made her debut at a baseball game this past weekend I went to with my partner and thier friend.
Aside from capturing slice of life footage to still unknown ends, I have started a series of interviews I want to conduct with people who will lend me 15-20 minutes. I think this will beceome my "Untitled Film Project." The basic structure will be a series of informal and candid interviews shot from the shoulders up. I want the editing style to be twee and childlike with lots of whimsical elements. I will have to play around with the editing a bit in post but the grainy fuzz of the cassette is already doing a lot of heavy lifting to establish the vibe I am going for. Now that I have provided a sufficent amount of word salad, here are some pictures of my earnest attempts to repair my old camecoder. I will have to look into if I am able to host videos on Neo.Cities, but we shall see.
